New Member Spotlight: J&H Fulfillment
J&H Fulfillment has been providing a range of fulfillment services for its customers for years. Led by Bob Jetté and Chris Hyde, the company offers e-commerce sites and custom database solutions, fulfillment and distribution, and custom kitting and assembly services. J&H Fulfillment prides itself on its investment in the best technology to support its clients at an affordable rate. The Chicago-based firm provides both standard and customized sites and is flexible on how it can best support its clients.
PSDA recently spoke with Jetté to learn more about the challenges J&H Fulfillment has faced, what the company is most proud of and how it sets itself apart in the fulfillment field.
What makes J&H Fulfillment unique?
Simply put, J&H does not charge for our e-commerce online websites. J&H creates standard sites for our clients to generate fulfillment opportunities for our growing clients and their client base. We now have over 100 sites up and running for our clients to order products, view inventory levels, and track all activity from receipt, to storage, to shipping. If a customized site is needed, we have programmers on staff who can build sites to the client’s specifications. Unlike many e-commerce solutions on the market today, we’ve already integrated our platforms into our fulfillment solutions, thereby creating a full suite of real-time solutions with full transparency to our clients.
If a client is already locked in with an e-commerce solution, we can integrate our inventory management system directly into his or her system for seamless real-time fulfillment operations. This allows the client to focus on what he or she does best … and allows J&H to fulfill the orders and manage the inventory, which is something we do best.
Tell us about the products and services you offer.
J&H Fulfillment focuses on three core areas of expertise:
- Online e-commerce sites and custom database solutions: From creating a simple online ordering site within a matter of hours, to implementing highly custom database solution for a client’s anchor programs, J&H has the onsite staff and experience to quickly and efficiently implement solutions. If the client already has systems in place, we can integrate our system directly to pull orders in real-time. We currently are integrated with Four51, Shopify, Ariba, and Quantum, just to name a few of the more common platforms. We can also integrate with whatever system the client may be using.
- Fulfillment and Distribution: Our motto has always been “In by 5:00pm EST, out the same day!” From receiving inventory, storing it, receiving orders, picking, packing, double checking the order and shipping, we manage and handle what our clients need on a daily basis. We currently manage over 12,000 active SKUs. Our administrative page allows our clients to manage all their inventory, which keeps them in control and costs down. Our reporting module allows clients to report on any and all information, from static item information to daily activity reports, all of which can be scheduled to run and email directly in whatever format is desired. In today’s world, transparency is key when dealing with day-to-day operations, and it’s all visible in real-time to our clients 24/7/365.
- Custom Kitting and Assembly Services: We handle simple bulk distributions to highly complex custom kitting and distribution services. Not only do we work with our clients to put a solution in place, but we are then flexible enough to change when the client needs to change due to market or other conditions. We’re registered with the FDA to handle medical devices, which we deal with on a daily basis.
What is your company most proud of?
J&H Fulfillment prides itself on working with our clients and their ever-changing needs, and finding a solution for them and their clients. We’ll work long into the night and on weekends to ensure successful launches of new assembly programs and new fulfillment programs. So far, 2019 has been a busy year for J&H Fulfillment, primarily due to the help of our clients’ new initiatives and programs, as well as our ability to create efficient processes to handle new workloads.
What PSDA member benefit are you most excited to utilize?
Many of our clients are currently PSDA members and speak very highly of the association. While attending last year’s P2P Technology + Innovation Summit in Indianapolis, I quickly realized what a tight community the PSDA group is, with respect for everyone and every business within the group. It’s our absolute pleasure to be included into such a great, longstanding community of printers and distributors. We hope to learn more about the needs of the community, and if there is a way for J&H Fulfillment to help them grow, like our current clients are doing so well with.
What challenges has J&H Fulfillment faced, and how have you overcome them?
As a Fulfillment house, our major challenge always seems to be space related, which, for us, has been a good problem to have. As we continue to grow and take on larger kitting and assembly programs, we always have to have a pulse on when to expand, but are wary not to expand too big too early. Since we deal with many clients and their business cycles, it’s not uncommon for us to spike in storage from time to time, but then level off once again after a big push. We stay in constant contact with building management teams and have been known to make a call one day and take over another building the next day — even if it is just a three to four month temporary lease.
What do you hope to get out of joining PSDA?
J&H Fulfillment has joined PSDA in hopes of being able to offer solutions to more growing printers and distributors that may be in the market for no-charge e-commerce store fronts, or a fulfillment house that can tie into their existing technology systems to off load fulfillment. This will allow the printers and distributors to focus on what they do best. We looking forward to meeting more PSDA members and speaking to them about J&H Fulfillment as a potential resource and long-term partner.
