Paul Bellantone Leaves PPAI
By PPAI
On Tuesday, Nov. 17, PPAI President and CEO Paul Bellantone penned the following note to the industry:
Dear Colleagues,
Earlier this month, I notified the PPAI Board of Directors and executive staff that I will be leaving PPAI at the end of March 2021 in advance of my contract extension period. PPAI has been my professional home for more than two decades, and I assure you, my decision was not taken lightly or in haste. It is no secret that this has been a challenging year for many, both personally and professionally. But with such challenges come opportunities to evolve and thrive. That's why I believe this is not only the right time for me, but the best time for PPAI.
I am proud of the work we have done at PPAI. The association has grown in size, scope and stature thanks to our dedicated staff and members. Our staff has developed a strong "confidence to evolve" mentality and, over the past nine months, have reimagined every aspect of the organization to deliver products, services and benefits that will prove both timely and timeless. These incredible accomplishments make me confident that they will lead the members of PPAI to new heights in 2021 and beyond.
The PPAI Board is supportive and understanding of my decision to embark on the next era of my life. Class acts, one and all, they remain as supportive of me today as when I stepped into the CEO role many years ago. Most importantly, the board and the association are equipped with extraordinary volunteer leaders, a strong executive team and a culture of excellence committed to your personal and professional success, and that will continue to engage, grow and serve this industry.
When I leave in March, I am leaving an organization that is strong, viable, incredibly nimble and, above all, prepared to lead and serve the next iteration of our association and industry. PPAI is stronger than a pandemic and bigger than one guy's departure. We have done this before — over and over for more than a century — and we will do it again. It is the association's legacy, a legacy I am proud to have helped build and fortify.
Much like the past 20 years, I will spend the next five months head down, determined, focused on success and now eager to do what I can to assure a seamless transition. And while I don't know what adventures are in store for me next, I am certain that I will spend every moment tremendously appreciative of the opportunities I have been given and for the relationships I have built during my time with this amazing organization.
Respectfully,
